Carambola is in the more secluded west end of the north shore. The feel is very traditional tropical beach resort and retro luxury. The property has been recently updated and the restaurant reopened. This hotel is beachfront with a pool, restaurant, and a dive shop. Many folks scuba from the beach, and this is a great place to start a hike to the Carambola Tide Pool. This Marriott property was built soon after the end scene from the movie Trading Places was shot on the beach in this location.
